After an initial exchange of letters, we recommended to our client that an early meeting between ourselves and the taxman would make sense, to explore the issues and to reassure the tax inspectors. This meeting proved crucial to establish the conduct of the enquiries which were eventually dropped by H M Revenue and Customs.
